Empowering Youth Through In-Person Therapy Groups This Summer 2026

Supporting young people as they develop emotional and social skills is essential for their well-being and future success. This summer, an in-person therapy group program offers a structured and supportive environment where youth can build these skills with guidance from supervised therapy interns. The program is designed to create a safe space for children to explore their feelings, learn coping strategies, and connect with peers.
What the Summer Therapy Group Offers
The program takes place in Brownsville, Texas, and runs during June and July 2026, with sessions held on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Each session lasts two hours, providing enough time for meaningful interaction and skill-building activities. The program integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies alongside Expressive Arts techniques, including art-based interventions, to support children in developing emotional awareness, coping skills, and positive thinking patterns. Through guided activities such as drawing, creative expression, and structured skill-building exercises, children learn practical tools in an engaging and supportive environment. Groups are kept small, with 10 children per group, allowing for personalized attention. Two groups run during each time block, accommodating up to 20 children. Group A, for ages 6 to 8, meets from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Group B, for ages 9 to 12, meets from 1 pm to 3 pm. Children attend three days a week, participating in a total of 26 sessions throughout the program. This consistent schedule helps reinforce the skills learned and encourages steady progress.
Who Facilitates the Sessions
Supervised master-level therapy interns lead the groups. These interns are trained and supported by licensed professional, ensuring that children receive quality care and guidance. The interns focus on helping youth develop essential emotional, social, and coping skills through structured activities and group discussions. This approach allows children to express themselves in a supportive environment while learning practical tools to manage challenges. The presence of interns also means that the program stays affordable without sacrificing quality.
Cost and Payment Options
With 26 sessions in total, the full program price is $675 per child. To make participation easier for families, a payment plan is available:
Weekly payments of $75
June payment of $325 (saving $25)
July payment of $325 (saving $25)
This flexible payment option helps families manage the cost while ensuring their child can benefit from the full program.
Why This Program Matters
Youth face many challenges today, from social pressures to emotional struggles. Group processing therapy provides a unique opportunity for children to learn from each other and develop skills that will help them navigate these challenges. The in-person format encourages real-time interaction, which is vital for building social confidence and emotional awareness. By participating in this program, children gain tools that support their mental health and overall development. They learn how to identify emotions, communicate effectively, and cope with stress in healthy ways. These skills are valuable not only during childhood but throughout life.
How to Enroll
Parents interested in enrolling their children can contact the program organizers to reserve a spot. Since each group is limited to 10 children, early registration is recommended to secure a place. The program’s schedule and payment plan details will be provided during the enrollment process.
